Nereus is a cat of very few words, usually responding to things said to him with actions, such as a flick of his tail or nodding his head. He talks so little others might mistake him as mute. It isn't because he's shy, it's because he has nothing important to say.

Cold
"Get lost mouse brain."
Nereus doesn't enjoy the company of anyone who isn't either one of his siblings or his parents and will deal with unwanted company by throwing cold comments at them till they go away.

Blunt
"Well... it was a good attempt but-"
"It was rubbish."
"No! It's just tha-"
"Yes it is- I know you're thinking the same thing."
Nereus isn't the type to sugar coat things, he will give people the ugly truth. He finds it unnecessary to put things in a nicer way and thinks that others need to learn to deal with simple comments like that. Although he doesn't actually mean to offend anyone, many who don't know his habits get hurt by his comments.

Protective
"One more step and you can say goodbye to that oh so pretty pelt you treasure so much."
Nereus is very protective of both cats that he cares for and his possessions. He can be quite selfish, usually not sharing unless he has to. He can get a bit out of hand with his, usually empty, threats though once anyone threatens those close to him.

Sarcastic
"You're higher than me? I shall practice my curtsy..."
Nereus replies to most comments with sarcasm, usually it's only a harmless joke unless someone decides to take it seriously.
